why we started

playhrd started with a simple problem that we kept running into: our shirts were ripping and no one was making the kind of cutoff we needed. as three friends who played sports together, we noticed everyone cutting their tees into frayed cutoffs for the gym, parties, and everything else. the style was there, but the quality wasn’t. so, we thought, why not create something better? we set out to design the perfect cutoff: a shirt that’s stylish, durable, and versatile enough for any scenario—whether it’s the gym, the field, a party, the beach, or just hanging out. that’s how playhrd was born—from our desire to make a better shirt for how we live and play.
